How to Style Comfy Sweaters! Part 2

Hey guys I hoped you liked Part 1 of this post, this is basically a continuation of that post, I hope you like it!

I don’t know about you, but I certainly have many many days where I wake up in the morning and all I feel is cold. It makes me not want to get out of bed or do anything! Then the thought of putting on a tight or revealing (basically uncomfortable) top to look fashionable makes me feel sick. All i want to do is not wear a bra, be warm and comfortable but still look presentable. On these days my huge comfy and fuzzy sweaters come in handy! I’ve had an obsession with sweaters lately and now they won’t fit in my closet anymore, whoops! Anyways here are a few different ways to style comfy sweaters without looking like you completely gave up on life ( even though you may feel that way inside) ;).

This post is going to made up of several different ootd looks put together but I will also give tips on ideas how to make theses outfits not so boring. You’ll see that they are all very simple, warm, and most importantly comfortable! If you want to see pictures of all my comfy sweaters, keep a look out for my Sweater Collection post coming up very soon!

img_3391

In this first outfit I am modeling a sweater vest. I find sweter vests to be really cute to make a rgular outfit into something a little bit more polished and business like. I paired it with my leather watch and tight black jeans. I decided to finish the outfit with black riding boots so that I can have a completely black bottom to not take away from the sweater vest and green blouse ensemble.

img_3411

I will be honest with you guys… I haven’t worn this sweater in a long time. This is because this yellowish-green color is very out of my comfort zone! But I made it my mission to create an outfit with this sweater that I would be willing to wear out, and not only did I complete the mission, but I actually love this outfit and it has become one of my staples! For anyone who has a sweater similar to this that is out of their comfort zone, I suggest you wear it and make that the statement piece of your outfit. This means the rest of your outfit should take to toning down the outfit a notch. In my outfit I paired this bright sweater with a dark wash jean and black uggs, about as simple as it gets! I accessorized this sweater with a turquoise necklace to take full advantage of the colors but depending on your own sweater you may just want to go accessory less.img_3488

This is definitely my coziest sweater, it’s made up of the softest material and is a turtle neck, perfect for those freezing days! To keep myself from dressing like my grandpa though, I paired the sweater with a light wash jean and trendy ankle boots to bring some chic into the outfit instead of just a cozy grandpa look! This way I’m extremely comfortable and warm but I look much more put together just because of the shoes! cozy-sweater-brown

This would probably be my favourite outfit. Here I am wearing it in the spring time but you can easliy make a few changes to it to make the outfit warmer. Simply unroll the jeans or if you have cufed jeans wear a pair of nice socks over to make a statement and keep your ankles and shins warm, a great example of this is roots wool socks. Also, I wold swap out this green jacket for my winter jacket and voila a winter outfit has formed!

I hope you guys liked these winter looks, watch out for a review on the Glamglow Super mud coming up in the following week!

How to style comfy sweaters! Part 1

You’ll see that they are all very simple, warm, and most importantly comfortable! Sweater: AEO | Leggings: Hyba | Shoes: Ugg

This is one of the simplest outfits but I love it so much! I love pairing leggings with sweaters because they are tight and form fitting which is completely opposite from sweaters. The ugg boots especially tied the whole look together because they are stylish but not very visible at the same time and they do not drag the eye to them, instead the sweater is the statement piece with nothing distracting the eye from it.

cozy-sweater

Sweater: H&M | Jeans: Urban Behavior | Shoes: Timberland

Here I went for a monochrome look. I paired my biggest black and white sweater with ripped jeans to add some more interest to the outfit. I really feel like the rips at the knee and some edge to the otherwise simple outfit. I finished the look off with matching white and grey socks peaking above my Timberlands. I chose the Timberlands instead one of my black pairs of shoes because I wanted to break up the monochrome a little bit and I find that they also add to the edginess of the outfit.

sorels

Sweater: Shrinking Violet | Leggings: Hyba | Shoes: Sorels

This outfit is one that I wear when I truly cannot get out of bed. I like this sweater because it is plain and can be paired with anything but it isn’t just a plain canvas, instead it has these cut-out patterns which automatically give the sweater some interest. I paired it with leggings again and wore my Sorels because they match the color scheme of the outfit perfectly, I especially love how the white fur ties in with the white sweater! Also, I’m not sure if you can tell in the picture but the leggings are more of a heather grey so there are specks of white that once again match the sweater.

styling-a-sweater

Sweater: Shrinking Violet| Jeans: Costa Blanca | Socks: Roots | Scarf: Forever 21 | Shoes: Sorels

Once again, I am wearing the white sweater as above but this time I paired it with jeans. I also accessorized with a burgundy scarf and roots socks peaking from the sorels to add some color to the outfit. I also love wearing my Talula burgundy mits for an even cozier and cute look!

As you guys can see, I love making simple outfits with little touches that add some extra interest or a pop of color to them! Tag me in your pictures if you want me to see some of your cozy sweater outfits!

I didn’t plan on making this a two-part series but it would be too long for only one post so look out for part two with more looks coming up next week!

New Years Resolutions!!

Happy New Years everyone! I hope everyone had a great time whether they went out, spent it with friends and family, or decided to stay alone! As always, with a new year come new promises and new resolutions. I don’t even remember my resolutions from last year but I’m pretty sure I didn’t fulfill them, whoops! Which is why this year I have decided to only come up with three but I am going to make sure to go through with these!

  1. No surprise here but my first resolution is to get fit! I’m pretty sure I said this last year too and I kind of did keep to my word. My fitness journey started exactly one year ago and its been a long journey with not too much success. This is because I would have times when I’m super consistent and managed to go to the gym 4+ times a week and then other times when I would not go for several weeks at a time. I believe that I have finally come up with the perfect workout routine and if I can manage to go to the gym 4 times a week every week I am positive I can have a “goals” body in no time! With that being said, it is much easier to write about it then to actually drag my ass to the gym that often! Also my eating habits are horrible so I have to clean that up too.
  2. My second resolution is to restart my blog and work harder than ever before! This winter break alone I’ve done more work for the blog than in the past year! I’m also going to start a kick-ass insta so say good-bye to the one I have now because in a matter of days its should look completely different, can’t wait to show you I’m so excited!
  3. My last resolution is going to be the hardest one… I want to learn to not stress so much about little things. I have a tendency to stress out over many little things and its causing a lot of unneeded stress in my life. So this year I am going to try to be more chill and not get so affected by small things which aren’t worth my worrying.

I have high hopes in achieving my resolutions this year, comment your resolutions below!

Last Minutes New Years Outfits Ideas and Inspo

Are you guys excited for New Years?! I know I am, even though I still don’t have any plans haha. But for those of you planning to go to a New Years party and need a last min outfit, here are some ideas!

Right from your closet:

This outfit isn’t as glamorous and sparkly as some may want when going out for New Years but I personally love this outfit! It is an especially great outfit if you are planning to go to a family or close friends party (not clubbing or a crazy rave party).

img_2522img_2563img_2602

As you can see this is a great last minute party outfit. It is a black bodycon sweater dress which contours the body amazingly because it is a thick material so it doesn’t make you look too tight or show anything you don’t want to be seen but at the same time it highlights your curves. Also the high neck gives you an appearance of really big boobs even if you are flat chested! Just add on some jewelry ( I went with a gold layered necklace and gold statement watch) and pair it with any shoes. I chose chunky black booties to add some edge but virtually any pair of shoes will go well with this outfit. I didn’t have a fur coat, but if you do this would the perfect outfit to pair it with, so for extra spumf add some fur!

Suede:

New Years
This outfit is also relatively simple. The statement piece is the suede dress with a cute gold choker. I added on a bunch of other matching jewelry and a leather jacket and cut out shoes. Lastly, I added a YSL clutch with gold detailing to tie in the black and gold. Here I had a black, gold, and burgundy color scheme but if you have a different suede dress just start from there and accessorize as you wish!

Sparkles:

Of course I needed one outfit with sparkles! As you can see I start each outfit with a statement piece and then I build from there. Since a sparkly skirt is really out there I tried toning the outfit down with other neutral color and little jewelry but prominent makeup.
Here are few more polyvore sets I made in the past:
Hope you liked this and I hope you have a Great New Year!

OOTD : 4/25/2016

Hey guys! Once again, I have another really simple ootd with a leather jacket! Don’t worry, I promise to change it up a bit next week 😉 Although honestly, I’ve really been loving leather jackets for this weather! They are perfect for the (around) 10 degrees weather when its also a bit windy. This jacket is from Danier, and I strongly suggest you go to the store asap because they just went bankrupt! This sucks for the company, but for us that means huge sales! Everything must go so most things are up to 70% off! Of course, I have horrible luck, so I bought my jacket one week before they declared bankruptcy and paid full price 😦 I hope you guys have better luck and snag up a really good deal! Black Leather Jacket OOTD

Hey guys! Today it was a pretty chilly day but I was sick of wearing my thick winter jackets so I was determined to find a way to wear my leather jacket and still be warm! To do this I paired a silky tank top with a really warm black cardigan and then put my leather jacket on top! This kept me pretty warm the entire time I was outside, so from now on I will always be wearing cardigans underneath my leather jacket! What I love about pairing cardigans with a leather jacket is how my arms and hands will be extra warm. In the pictures below, the only place you can see the cardigan is where my hands are but that extra piece of fabric really helped keep my hands warm without wearing gloves. More outfit details are below, Enjoy!

Spring Must-Haves

Hey guys! Today I have a post about Spring Must- Haves that I selected from the website, Spring. Spring is a website that sells all sorts of clothes for all genders, they are not their own brand but instead they sell a bunch of different brands. When you look below, I’m sure you will come across some brands you already know and love!

Marigot: Lurin Short Pajama set

I thought this pajama was really cute! The reason I think it’s a spring must-have is because the top is long-sleeved and the bottoms are shorts. Since Spring weather is kinda bipolar I like to be prepared for everything so this pajama set is great for the warmer and colder spring days!

Urban Outfitters: Without Walls Crisscross legging

Cut-outs are a big thing once again this season. These leggings are so adorbale but they are also really great for working out! Because of the cutouts on the side, your legs will be able to breathe easily yet you will also be covered where most of your insecurities might be!

DSTLD: Ripped High Waisted Skinny Jeans

I’ve been telling myself to but a pair of high waisted skinny jeans for over a year now! They are expensive but jeans are honestly the best clothing investment because you can wear them year round! The reason I like high waisted jeans is because you can wear really cute crop tops without actually showing too much (or any) skin.

Celine High Neck in White Perforated Perfection (1 piece)

I might be getting ahead of myself as it is snowing here right win but I really love this bikini so I had to include it! Let me just say that it is amazing for those in the itty bitty titty community 🙂

Track Pant Silky Blue Black

I often find Spring to be too cold for shorts so when I don’t want to wear jeans I opt for these types of pants. They are loose and are as comfortable as sweatpants except they look way nicer and can be made to look extremely chic with the right top and accessories. Because they are loose and usually made out of a thinner fabric, they will allow air circulation and will let your legs feel  warm but not too warm.

WOMEN’S PADDED TUBE KNIT VARSITY JACKET

I have seen this jacket everywhere! It’s a great transitional jacket that would go great with the pants above (and almost anything else)!

Urban Outfitters: Ecote Cooper Off-The-Shoulder Top

Off the shoulder tops are really trending now and I’m not surprised! They look a bit elegant and laid back at the same time. They are also a great way to expose skin without being too revealing or if crop tops aren’t your thing.

OOTD-Winter 2016

Hey guys! I hope you are having a great day! For me, this has been the best winter by far. It’s been pretty warm which makes me extremely happy because I cannot stand the cold! Today I have an ootd that I love to wear during the Fall and on the warm Winter days. I love wearing cargo pants during the winter because they are loose fitting so you can layer underneath and be warm even if it just looks like a loose and breezy pair of pants. I paired them with a cropped grey sweater and my leather jacket. The outfit details are below!

Wishlist – 2016

Hey guys, I think this is the first wishlist of the year and that makes me really excited! This wishlist is actually requested by a few of my friends because my birthday is coming up and apparently I’m hard to shop for. With that being said they wanted me to put together a list so that they can get a general idea of what I like (now). My style is kind of all over the place but this year I’m going for more sophisticated and intriguing styles but  they need to have a sense of casualty to them. So I know that’s really hard to come by but what I mean is that I’m looking for things with lots of cut- outs and things that are really casual but with a twist!

How to Get Rid of Dry Winter Skin!

Every time Winter rolls in, I know that I`m about to have a battle with my skin! It always gets really dry and flaky, which not only looks bad but it also makes putting face make-up on almost impossible and it also itches like crazy! Although this year I think I finally got it right! Here are a few tips on how to keep your face moisturized!

Here are a few reasons why your face may be so dry.

  • Your daily cleanser
  • Washing your hands too much
  • The dry winter air
  • The winter wind
  • Your acne creams

Since there are so many solutions to these problems, I`m going to make this a two part series, so make sure to check the blog for the last three explanations and solutions of the list above!

Your Daily Cleanser

This is something that I have been doing wrong for so long, and changing it up made all the difference! Cleansers are known to dry up your face becuase that is how getting rid of all that dirt and oil usually works, so its great for people with really oily skin, but for anyone else it will make your skin flake! So, from now on when you are looking for cleansers, don`t look for cleansers that claim they will make you acne disappear, really nice smelling cleansers, or cleansers with the little exfoliating balls in them. You see, anything with fragrance drys out your skin because the chemicals behind the scent are usually drying. That`s why even though I LOVE my Body Shop lotions that smell like heaven, I try not to use them as often as my other more organic and non-smelling lotions because I know that they do not moisturize as well. Also, stray away from any exfoliants for a daily routine in the Winter time. It is good to exfoliate every once in a while to get rid of the top layer of dry skin, but doing it daily will be too rough on your skin and leave it even dryer than when you started!

With all that being said, what you should look for a cleanser to say on its label is things like moisturize, daily, and especially labels that specifically say that they do not dry out your skin. After using a cleanser, use an extra rich moisturizer right after. To make sure your body absorbs most of the moisturizer, put it on right when you get out of the shower because your pores will be open then.

Washing Your Hands Too Often

This may comes as a surprise to some, but washing your hands religiously is actually not so great for you! If you wash your hands too often, you will most definitely get extremely dry hands. So many people over wash their hands an dcombined with the winter climate it leaves your hands red and flaky. So try not to wash your hands more than 5 times a day, also make sure to always dry your hands fully! Your hands pick up more gedrms when they are wet and the wetness also dries them out. Another thing you could do is to keep a bottle of lotion beside your sink and always apply it after drying your hands.

Stay tuned for the next post in this series! I also started a new fitness routine and was wondering if you guys would like a daily journal about what workouts I did and other fitness related tips, so if that sounds like something that would interest you, then please let me know in the comments!
