Fall Lifestyle Wishlist ft. UncommonGoods

You know those times when you go to a store intending to get just one item, but then you end up with a cart full of things! Well be warned, that is exactly what happened to me when I went on this website! I don’t know about you guys but personally I love cute decor and uncommon little things that you don’t even know you need until you see them!

This website is full of quirky, creative, and as the name states uncommon goods! Not only do they have some of the best gift options for women, men, and children alike, they are also very environmentally friendly. They have never sold anything made of leather, feathers or fur and try to include many products made out of recyclable materials. Another cool initiative that they offer is their Better To Give program, where at checkout you can choose a not-for profit to receive a $1 donation from Uncommongoods.

Here are a few things that are on my wish list!

Tea Drop Sampler

I started seeing these tea drops pop up occasionally on my feed around a few months ago and always thought they were so cool! Personally, I love tea! I drink it every single morning during the winter days so I would really love to try this out. The sampler set includes 5 drops each of: citrus ginger, vanilla white, rose earl grey, sweet peppermint, and matcha green tea. Tea is literally one of the easiest things to prepare but they managed to make it even easier! These drops simply dissolve in your water and you’re left with a perfect cup of tea.

On the Go Coffee Press

I heard about this brilliant invention just last weekend when I was at a university fair and somebody started bragging about how one of their students thought of this great idea! For all you coffee lovers, I think it is self explanatory why I want this!

Amazonite Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelet

I fell in love with this bracelet the second I saw it in the beauty and wellness section of the site. At first I was confused as to why a bracelet would be in that section but then I read about the product and it all made sense. It turns out that not only is this a really pretty piece of jewelry but it is also a diffuser that you can carry around with you all day long! By putting incense on the porous lava rocks, it will act as a diffuser throughout the day. I thought this was really neat and is probably number 1 on my wishlist!

Pocket Tin Speaker

My beats pill is on its last string and is about to completely die on me at any moment so t this speaker would really come in handy. It’s also great for taking on the go as it is only the size of a packet of mints, so its really portable which is uncommon for most speakers.

Solar System Bath Bomb Set

Who doesn’t love bath bombs?! I thought this was an extremely cute gift idea for basically any girl. It is a 9 piece set (8 planets and the sun) and handmade.

These are only some of the cool items I found but there are hundreds more! So if you are ever unsure of what to get someone for a gift or are looking to treat yourself, I would highly recommend Uncommon Goods!

Uncommon Goods has kindly sponsored this post but all opinions and thoughts are 100% honest. I am so happy to have come across this website and can assure you that I will be visiting it regularly, especially around Christmas time!

Simple Henna Designs For Summer

Henna is a beautiful symbol of culture and tradition, but it has also become one of the biggest summer trends. You can create beautiful designs on your body that stay on for a few weeks. It’s like a temporary tattoo. Since I’m not very artistic, I have decided to gather some pretty henna designs that anyone can do! I’ll also explain how to easily achieve the design!

Related image

I found this design particularly beautiful! It looks complex but if you break it up into a few small steps it can actually be pretty easy! You start off by just drawing a simple dot and two diamond shapes getting increasingly bigger around it . Then, draw the swirly lines that are connected to the edge of the diamond Voila, you’ve done the hardest part, now simply draw the 5 dots on either side of the diamond and the small lines around it and you’re finished!

Image result for henna designs simple

To be honest, I’m not sure if this is a flower or sun but either way it’s a cute design! It’s pretty straight forward how to draw this, except with one trick. After drawing hte circle, use the tip of the henna applicator to drag out the little triangular things instead of using more henna, it will end up much cleaner and precise.

Image result for henna elephant

I have always found elephant henna tattoos adorable so I was determined to find one I could draw! This is probably the toughest design here, but if you look at it really close and do it one part at a time it is manageable! A tip is to start at the bottom and work your way up.

Image result for henna turtle

I also love tortoises in henna, and this tortoise looks complex but is in fact really easy to draw. Start with the shell and you can draw the square design of the shell very easy. Just draw two horizontal and two vertical lines. Inside the square you can do any design or even leave it blank. The rest of the body is pretty easy!

Favorite Nail Colors for Summer 2017

Hey guys,

Painting my nails is something that I have loved doing since I was a little girl, and as seasons change, I would change my taste in colors. Here are some colors that I’ve been loving to rock during the hot sunny months!

blue

This baby blue is a color that I love for summer, and for one main reason; it reminds me of the beach. The beach is my happy place and blue is known to be a calm and cooling color so whenever I have blue nails I always feel at bit more tranquil.purple nails

Ya, you can probably sense a pattern here… Light girly colors that are almost like pastels are my summer go to’s. That, or going really bold!lilac nails

This color just makes me think of flowers and innocence immediately. It’s like the innocent girl next door color, but add an accent somewhere and it’ll add a cool twist to the look. It is also a really great base if you wanted to try some cool designs.

white nails

Matt white nails are a classic, and it’s no surprise why! It looks great on all nail lengths and has an clean, fresh, fun look to it, all while being elegant at the same time! I absolutely love white nails when I tan, I love the contrast of white against my darker skin.

yellow nails

Remember how I mentioned being bold in one of the above pictures? Well this is an example of what I was talking about, yellow! Same as the white, yellow contrasts beautifully against bronzed skin and is such a vibrant color that just screams sun!

Hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite nail color picks, comment yours below! Also do not forget that I will be moving my blog some time soon! Lastly, if you are interested in getting in great shape with me for free, click the link below!

Free Fitness and Nutrition Program

Hi everyone!

I’ve spent the last 7 weeks learning French in beautiful Gaspé, in Quebec, Canada. I had one of the best summers of my life there, full of new experiences such as sea kayaking and canyoning, making new amazing friends, and throughout the entire trip I’ve taken so many beautiful pictures that I can’t wait to share with you! Although I had an amazing time, I completely abandoned one thing I’m very passionate about; health and fitness.
I arrived in Quebec in the best shape of my life and while I did keep pretty active there, IMG_7439my diet was horrendous! I’m talking poutine for lunch and pizza for dinner, not to mention the bagel with peanut butter and jam or/ and muffin for breakfast! We had a cafeteria where we ate every day and it was very tasty but so unhealthy, we also had a big dessert after lunch and dinner ( of course I ate the dessert every time as I have a huge sweet tooth).  I shocked by body by going from a strict counting macros diet to this random unbalanced diet. Needless to say my tummy was not feeling the best most days…But I am back in Toronto and more motivated than ever to get back on track!
Since I’ve never really talked about my fitness journey on my blog I’d like to give you guys a quick re-cap of my fitness journey. I’ve been working out regularly for about 1.5 years now. I focused  mainly on weight training with basically no cardio training but lately I’ve also been working on calisthenics ( really cool body weight exercises such as kip ups, superman push-ups etc).
My goal now is to keep working on skills (the calisthenics portion) and also on my endurance (cardio) while maintaining the muscle I have grown the past six months using the 5×5 program (comment if you want more info on this).
I plan on doing BBG, Zgym and also my own calistenics workouts for at least 5 days a week, l don’t want to have a strict schedule or else I’ll be less likely to follow it.  I know 5 days may seem like a lot for some, but I truly love going to the gym ( especially for my calisthenics days, it’s like playing ) so I think I should be able to follow this schedule but if t proves to be to demanding I can always just take out a day 😃
In order to keep myself on track or help anyone else out wanting to get fit or also wants to get back on track after summer, I’m going to post on insta everyday, noting what I ate that day and what workout I did. I promise my food will be very simple and workouts will be relatively quick but definitely fun and effective ! So if this sounds like something that’s interests you, simply check out my my fitness Instagram (@peachesandabs)  that I’m just starting up.
Everything is completely free, I’m not a personal trainer just have some experience after doing tons of research and working out myself for pretty long, after all this is also to keep myself on track ( major accountability challenge for me!)
As for my followers that are here for fashion and beauty, not to worry! I am ready with a bunch of new content, collabs, and breathtaking photographs! I will be publishing a post every Thursday, along with the daily fitness post!
Also, please don’t forget that I am moving my blog to another platfrom, and my domain will change to osovogue.com!

WIW: Skiing

Hey guys! I just got back from Quebec where I had a great skiing  vacation (post on that coming up)! I realize that the skiing season is over but I wanted to share what I wore while skiing! Also, sorry for the horrible quality, I was always rushed and had to take the pictures with my phone :/

Unfortunately I’m writing this post too late so I’m not going to go in detail about what you need to stay warm while skiing. But to sum it up, you need:

  • dry fit leggings
  • dry fit tops ( I prefer long sleeves)
  • a fleece sweater
  • ski socks

The four things above are the bare minimum you need, for skiing you need many other items (snow pants, mits, balaclavas) but I will cover that in the beginning of next winter!

Thanks to Followers!!

This is my 101 st post and I wanted to thank everyone who has been following me the past year! When I started this blog I never imagined it would reach such a wide audience and that I would get so much positive feedback. I was honestly afraid that I would get some hate mail for unknown reasons (as many bloggers do), but I didn’t! Instead I got the nicest and most positive group of followers and readers that I could possibly ask for! So I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone,  have a great time if you are on Spring Break right now! Here’s a picture of where I wish I was right now, comment where you wish you could go on vacation/ where you are vacationing!

Best Perfumes under $20!

So I’ve heard from a lot of you that you don’t like paying lot’s of money for perfume, you just want to smell good and it doesn’t matter from which brand! Some people love perfume and spend hundreds of dollars  on perfume. Personally, I’m in the middle. I like spoiling myself with some expensive perfumes but I mainly have perfume that costs a bit less but still smells amazing! In this post, I’m going to share my 5 favorite perfumes that are under $20 and are amazing!

  Haily by Aeropostale

The reason I bought this perfume wasw because I thought the bottle was so cute! I got lucky because it turned out that this perfume smelled great, it’s sweet and floral. It is also pretty strong but not overwhelming and has pretty good staying power.

Sweet Embrace and Love Charm by La Senza

Sweet Embrace has a really sweet smell( may be overpowering to some). But because of this it has really long staying power and by the end of the day it will still be there. Love Charm is the complete opposite, it smells a bit like melon and has a nice airy smell to it. It is definitely a great summer perfume.

The LVII limited collection by Zara

I love this perfume because it seems a lot more expensive than it is, and the quality is quite great. It smells extremely sweet, kind of like candy. Honestly, the smell is really hard to describe, it is sweet but not the floral type sweet if that makes sense…

Wild by BU

This perfume is extremely airy, it is the lightest perfume of all of the above. It’s a floral smell as I’m sure you can tell by the way it looks. It is also a perfume deodorant spray, I’m not sure what that really is but I am sure that it isn’t body mist or body spray because the smell is much stronger than that and stays on for longer.

I hope you find that one of these suit you!

Black Clothes Essentials

Since everyone seemed to love my Five Essential Tops post, I decided to follow up with a Black Clothes Essentials! Honestly, I never was a really big fan of the color black. Until this year! Black is such a beautiful shade that can truly be paired and matched with anything (except maybe brown..)! I found myself wearing more and more black clothes because they were so easy to match. Today I’ll show you the five essential black items that can be worn at many different events and occasion, and on a daily basis. You can make endless combinations with these items, so lets get started!

1. LBD

Picture from: fashionabroad.wordpress.com

Who could’ve guessed that a LBD (little black dress) would be the first item on this list? I’m guessing half of you 😉 There is reason that a little black dress has its own acronym, it can be worn on almost every occasion and since black is a very flattering color it also does you justice when you wear it! Wear a little black dress casually with cardigan and converse, dress it up a bit with a statement necklace, or wear it a funeral with black pumps. Whatever the occasion, you can’t go wrong with a LBD. In fact, I’m wearing one to class tomorrow!

2. Black Blouse

Picture from: closetpedia.info

I was debating whether or not I should put this item on this list but I decided too because black blouses are once again really versatile, they can be dressed up or down while always looking chic. I also love accessorizing when I`m wearing a black blouse because you can get really creative and a bit outside your comfort zone because the black blouse will balance everything out.

3. Leggings

Picture from: exepose.com

I know, I know, there are lot`s of haters when it comes to wearing leggings outside the gym, but I think that leggings are a really nice alternative to jeans for those days that you are feeling lazy. I think they are super cute when paired with an over sized top, since the leggings are so tight and the top is so loose, it`ll give you the illusion of super thin legs! Either way, if you aren`t a fan of leggings outside of the gym, they are still an essential for running, exercise, and just being lazy at home 🙂

4. Black casual tee

Picture from: galleryhip.com

This is the one item that I think every single person has in their closet! A casual black tee, whether its a v-neck, scoop, or whatever it looks like is a must for layering. Wear it under anything, accesorize it, pair it with a printed scarf…. the possibilities are endless!

5. Cardigan

Picture from: poshglam.com

I love cardigans because I find that they automatically make an outfit look more thought out and complex. They`re also great for those days when the mornings are really cold but you know that it is going to warm up later on.

How to turn your bridesmaid dress into an everyday outfit

Being a bridesmaid is great, but like the bride, you are usually left with dress or jumpsuit that is too elegant to wear anywhere else! Today I will give some tips on how you can wear your bridesmaid dress to work (assuming you work in a bank, cubicle, or anywhere where people dress “buisnessy.” A construction place probably isn’t the best place for this outfit…)! I will also show you how I a styled a beautiful Eva Franco jumpsuit that I found on lover.ly. These tips apply jumpsuits and dresses.

How to turn your bridesmaid outfit into an everyday outfit.

For work:

Tip #1: The one thing that almost all businesswomen own is an essential to achieve this look, a blazer! To me, blazers are the classic businesswomen item and a must-have. I love them because they can completely change the look of a outfit. Depending on how they are styled they can make an outfit look more elegant or casual. In this case, the blazer made the jumpsuit more casual and gave it a business vibe. If your dress starts flowing down right underneath your chest or if your jumpsuit is high-waisted (like in the picture) then I suggest a cropped blazer like the ones in the picture.

Tip #2: Change up the colors for a more modern and edgy feel. When we think of bridesmaids dresses we usually think of warm and neutral or one colored dresses, which is why we do the opposite,  we aren’t supposed to blend into the background (like bridesmaid are supposed to), today is our day, we want to stand out! Add strong colors that match your dress, I chose a red or black cropped blazer to go with this jumpsuit.

Tip #3:If possible, do not match your blazer and shoes. As you can see in the photo, one of my “business” outfits include black pumps and a red blazer, and the other outfit has a black blazer and red pumps. In other words add color variation, because like I said before, today we do not want to blend in! If you like matching your shoes with your tops, then read tip #4!

Tip #4: For all you people that have a need to color synchronize your shoes to another part of your outfit, then please match your shoes to your purse! I find that that brings a look together without being overwhelming to look at.

Tip #5: Stay clear of very elegant jewelry. Wear abstract bracelets, big chunky earrings, and lots of rings! You can do this in whichever color matches the rest of your outfit best (in the outfit above it was all gold). Also, feel free to add a necklace, I only didn’t because the top of this jumpsuit already has a pattern and I didn’t want to make anything clash.

Tip #6: Your purse should be big and a dark solid color. Pretty much, we are doing everything opposite to what a bridesmaid would do.

How I styled the jumpsuit for a bridesmaid:

I fell in love with this jumpsuit the second I saw it! When I think of a bridesmaid, I think of warm and light colors which is why I paired it with nude with a tint of pink heels. After the heels I found that beautiful elegant clutch and knew I had to add it! All the different colors and textures on the clutch really made this look special! It added color and subtle yet strong way! After finding the clutch, I based most of my jewelery on it, I found a beautiful purple and gold bracelet and then added on more gold bangles (these bangles had some pink on it). Since the bracelets were the same colors as the clutch it added an even more of a “pop”. Once again I added lots of rings and lastly, I added the most beautiful gold and pearl earrings.

Tip #1: When going for a overall neutral outfit but still want some “pop”, then chose one item to stand out like your shoes or purse ( like in this case).

Tip #2: Match your jewelery to your bag. I love doing this as it gives your outfit a very neat and elegant feel. I did this in this set with the clutch and the different colored bracelets!

I hope you enjoyed my tips and loved this jumpsuit as much as I did!
