Fall Lifestyle Wishlist ft. UncommonGoods

You know those times when you go to a store intending to get just one item, but then you end up with a cart full of things! Well be warned, that is exactly what happened to me when I went on this website! I don’t know about you guys but personally I love cute decor and uncommon little things that you don’t even know you need until you see them!

This website is full of quirky, creative, and as the name states uncommon goods! Not only do they have some of the best gift options for women, men, and children alike, they are also very environmentally friendly. They have never sold anything made of leather, feathers or fur and try to include many products made out of recyclable materials. Another cool initiative that they offer is their Better To Give program, where at checkout you can choose a not-for profit to receive a $1 donation from Uncommongoods.

Here are a few things that are on my wish list!

Tea Drop Sampler

I started seeing these tea drops pop up occasionally on my feed around a few months ago and always thought they were so cool! Personally, I love tea! I drink it every single morning during the winter days so I would really love to try this out. The sampler set includes 5 drops each of: citrus ginger, vanilla white, rose earl grey, sweet peppermint, and matcha green tea. Tea is literally one of the easiest things to prepare but they managed to make it even easier! These drops simply dissolve in your water and you’re left with a perfect cup of tea.

On the Go Coffee Press

I heard about this brilliant invention just last weekend when I was at a university fair and somebody started bragging about how one of their students thought of this great idea! For all you coffee lovers, I think it is self explanatory why I want this!

Amazonite Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelet

I fell in love with this bracelet the second I saw it in the beauty and wellness section of the site. At first I was confused as to why a bracelet would be in that section but then I read about the product and it all made sense. It turns out that not only is this a really pretty piece of jewelry but it is also a diffuser that you can carry around with you all day long! By putting incense on the porous lava rocks, it will act as a diffuser throughout the day. I thought this was really neat and is probably number 1 on my wishlist!

Pocket Tin Speaker

My beats pill is on its last string and is about to completely die on me at any moment so t this speaker would really come in handy. It’s also great for taking on the go as it is only the size of a packet of mints, so its really portable which is uncommon for most speakers.

Solar System Bath Bomb Set

Who doesn’t love bath bombs?! I thought this was an extremely cute gift idea for basically any girl. It is a 9 piece set (8 planets and the sun) and handmade.

These are only some of the cool items I found but there are hundreds more! So if you are ever unsure of what to get someone for a gift or are looking to treat yourself, I would highly recommend Uncommon Goods!

Uncommon Goods has kindly sponsored this post but all opinions and thoughts are 100% honest. I am so happy to have come across this website and can assure you that I will be visiting it regularly, especially around Christmas time!

Simple Henna Designs For Summer

Henna is a beautiful symbol of culture and tradition, but it has also become one of the biggest summer trends. You can create beautiful designs on your body that stay on for a few weeks. It’s like a temporary tattoo. Since I’m not very artistic, I have decided to gather some pretty henna designs that anyone can do! I’ll also explain how to easily achieve the design!

I found this design particularly beautiful! It looks complex but if you break it up into a few small steps it can actually be pretty easy! You start off by just drawing a simple dot and two diamond shapes getting increasingly bigger around it . Then, draw the swirly lines that are connected to the edge of the diamond Voila, you’ve done the hardest part, now simply draw the 5 dots on either side of the diamond and the small lines around it and you’re finished!

To be honest, I’m not sure if this is a flower or sun but either way it’s a cute design! It’s pretty straight forward how to draw this, except with one trick. After drawing hte circle, use the tip of the henna applicator to drag out the little triangular things instead of using more henna, it will end up much cleaner and precise.

I have always found elephant henna tattoos adorable so I was determined to find one I could draw! This is probably the toughest design here, but if you look at it really close and do it one part at a time it is manageable! A tip is to start at the bottom and work your way up.

I also love tortoises in henna, and this tortoise looks complex but is in fact really easy to draw. Start with the shell and you can draw the square design of the shell very easy. Just draw two horizontal and two vertical lines. Inside the square you can do any design or even leave it blank. The rest of the body is pretty easy!

Favorite Nail Colors for Summer 2017

Hey guys,

Painting my nails is something that I have loved doing since I was a little girl, and as seasons change, I would change my taste in colors. Here are some colors that I’ve been loving to rock during the hot sunny months!

blue

This baby blue is a color that I love for summer, and for one main reason; it reminds me of the beach. The beach is my happy place and blue is known to be a calm and cooling color so whenever I have blue nails I always feel at bit more tranquil.purple nails

Ya, you can probably sense a pattern here… Light girly colors that are almost like pastels are my summer go to’s. That, or going really bold!lilac nails

This color just makes me think of flowers and innocence immediately. It’s like the innocent girl next door color, but add an accent somewhere and it’ll add a cool twist to the look. It is also a really great base if you wanted to try some cool designs.

white nails

Matt white nails are a classic, and it’s no surprise why! It looks great on all nail lengths and has an clean, fresh, fun look to it, all while being elegant at the same time! I absolutely love white nails when I tan, I love the contrast of white against my darker skin.

yellow nails

Remember how I mentioned being bold in one of the above pictures? Well this is an example of what I was talking about, yellow! Same as the white, yellow contrasts beautifully against bronzed skin and is such a vibrant color that just screams sun!

Hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite nail color picks, comment yours below! Also do not forget that I will be moving my blog some time soon! Lastly, if you are interested in getting in great shape with me for free, click the link below!

New Years Resolutions!!

Happy New Years everyone! I hope everyone had a great time whether they went out, spent it with friends and family, or decided to stay alone! As always, with a new year come new promises and new resolutions. I don’t even remember my resolutions from last year but I’m pretty sure I didn’t fulfill them, whoops! Which is why this year I have decided to only come up with three but I am going to make sure to go through with these!

  1. No surprise here but my first resolution is to get fit! I’m pretty sure I said this last year too and I kind of did keep to my word. My fitness journey started exactly one year ago and its been a long journey with not too much success. This is because I would have times when I’m super consistent and managed to go to the gym 4+ times a week and then other times when I would not go for several weeks at a time. I believe that I have finally come up with the perfect workout routine and if I can manage to go to the gym 4 times a week every week I am positive I can have a “goals” body in no time! With that being said, it is much easier to write about it then to actually drag my ass to the gym that often! Also my eating habits are horrible so I have to clean that up too.
  2. My second resolution is to restart my blog and work harder than ever before! This winter break alone I’ve done more work for the blog than in the past year! I’m also going to start a kick-ass insta so say good-bye to the one I have now because in a matter of days its should look completely different, can’t wait to show you I’m so excited!
  3. My last resolution is going to be the hardest one… I want to learn to not stress so much about little things. I have a tendency to stress out over many little things and its causing a lot of unneeded stress in my life. So this year I am going to try to be more chill and not get so affected by small things which aren’t worth my worrying.

I have high hopes in achieving my resolutions this year, comment your resolutions below!

1 Tip That Will Keep You Warm During Winter

For me, this isn’t really a trick or tip, this is something that I just grew up with. I never really thought much about it until I realized that none of my friends did this and I was always a lot warmer than them. This tip is extremely simple and obvious so may have thought of it already, but in case you haven’t here is the tip: Wear an undershirt! Okay, I know some of you are thinking that it is stupid and uncomfortable to wear another layer. But undershirts are skin tight so they aren’t visible when you wear them under your shirt, hence the name undershirt. Here are the pros to wearing an undershirt in the wintertime:

• since they are skin tight they trap air in and keep you warm throughout the day

• if you are like me, that’s means you hate when you lift your arms when you are outside and all the cold air rushes in your jacket, and the part of uncovered skin freezes. Well the undershirt will insure that your whole torso will be covered

• If you are at someone’s house and get hot all of a sudden because of your sweater, you can always take off your sweater and chill in your undershirt ( which is really just a spaghetti strapped tank top)

This tip may not seem the best but I guarantee that you will love this if you give it a chance.

Introduction

Welcome to O so vogue!!

Last year I went through a bit of a life changing event: I got robbed in a foreign country where they stole my passport and all my money. As you can imagine getting back home wasn’t the easiest! I was very stressed and panicked because I couldn’t get on an airplane without my passport even if I could’ve found the money to buy another ticket. Obviously I managed to get back home, and even though I was very scared I made the extra days that I stayed in that country more fun than my whole vacation before the incident! I don’t know why but I felt stronger and more confident after getting robbed! I really don’t know why, when I think about it I realize that I should have gotten more scared of life and lost some confidence. I love telling this story because it is a part of me now. So I made this blog because I want to help people live a more fit, fashionable, and healthy lifestyle so that you can gain the confidence I have, without getting robbed! Enough talking about my story, here is an overview of what type of posts I will be posting:

Fashion: Do you ever have those days where you just can’t decide what to wear? Well, your in luck because my blog will have plenty of tips and tricks, ootd’ s, outfit inspirations and more! I will also follow trends and make sure to blog and give you my opinion of them! Pretty much anything fashion related will be posted. If you ever have any idea about what I should post, make sure to comment!
Make up: Makeup reviews and tutorial posts. My favorites and recommendations, almost of my makeup is very affordable as I am only a student and cannot afford many high end make up products 😦
Beauty: I love painting my nails and doing my hair so I will make sure to always post stuff about beauty in general.
Fitness: I recently improved my fitness level ( and am still trying) so I will make sure to post about what works what doesn’t what I did, favorite exercises, and many little tips that will get you whipped up in shape with almost no effort ( because I know that many people do not have time to exercise daily)!
Recipes: I will post many recipes of healthy but very tasty food ( of course there will be cheat meals as well) that doesn’t take hours in the kitchen and are very basic because I must admit that I myself am n the greatest chef. So if I can make these pretty much anyone can!

I know this was a long intro so I want to thank-you for staying with me the whole way through!:) Make sure to comment if you went through a life changing experience! And make sure to follow to see posts right when I publish them (I will post regularly on Mondays and Fridays)!

XOXO,

Kat
