Fall Lifestyle Wishlist ft. UncommonGoods

You know those times when you go to a store intending to get just one item, but then you end up with a cart full of things! Well be warned, that is exactly what happened to me when I went on this website! I don’t know about you guys but personally I love cute decor and uncommon little things that you don’t even know you need until you see them!

This website is full of quirky, creative, and as the name states uncommon goods! Not only do they have some of the best gift options for women, men, and children alike, they are also very environmentally friendly. They have never sold anything made of leather, feathers or fur and try to include many products made out of recyclable materials. Another cool initiative that they offer is their Better To Give program, where at checkout you can choose a not-for profit to receive a $1 donation from Uncommongoods.

Here are a few things that are on my wish list!

Tea Drop Sampler

I started seeing these tea drops pop up occasionally on my feed around a few months ago and always thought they were so cool! Personally, I love tea! I drink it every single morning during the winter days so I would really love to try this out. The sampler set includes 5 drops each of: citrus ginger, vanilla white, rose earl grey, sweet peppermint, and matcha green tea. Tea is literally one of the easiest things to prepare but they managed to make it even easier! These drops simply dissolve in your water and you’re left with a perfect cup of tea.

On the Go Coffee Press

I heard about this brilliant invention just last weekend when I was at a university fair and somebody started bragging about how one of their students thought of this great idea! For all you coffee lovers, I think it is self explanatory why I want this!

Amazonite Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelet

I fell in love with this bracelet the second I saw it in the beauty and wellness section of the site. At first I was confused as to why a bracelet would be in that section but then I read about the product and it all made sense. It turns out that not only is this a really pretty piece of jewelry but it is also a diffuser that you can carry around with you all day long! By putting incense on the porous lava rocks, it will act as a diffuser throughout the day. I thought this was really neat and is probably number 1 on my wishlist!

Pocket Tin Speaker

My beats pill is on its last string and is about to completely die on me at any moment so t this speaker would really come in handy. It’s also great for taking on the go as it is only the size of a packet of mints, so its really portable which is uncommon for most speakers.

Solar System Bath Bomb Set

Who doesn’t love bath bombs?! I thought this was an extremely cute gift idea for basically any girl. It is a 9 piece set (8 planets and the sun) and handmade.

These are only some of the cool items I found but there are hundreds more! So if you are ever unsure of what to get someone for a gift or are looking to treat yourself, I would highly recommend Uncommon Goods!

Uncommon Goods has kindly sponsored this post but all opinions and thoughts are 100% honest. I am so happy to have come across this website and can assure you that I will be visiting it regularly, especially around Christmas time!

New Years Resolutions!!

Happy New Years everyone! I hope everyone had a great time whether they went out, spent it with friends and family, or decided to stay alone! As always, with a new year come new promises and new resolutions. I don’t even remember my resolutions from last year but I’m pretty sure I didn’t fulfill them, whoops! Which is why this year I have decided to only come up with three but I am going to make sure to go through with these!

  1. No surprise here but my first resolution is to get fit! I’m pretty sure I said this last year too and I kind of did keep to my word. My fitness journey started exactly one year ago and its been a long journey with not too much success. This is because I would have times when I’m super consistent and managed to go to the gym 4+ times a week and then other times when I would not go for several weeks at a time. I believe that I have finally come up with the perfect workout routine and if I can manage to go to the gym 4 times a week every week I am positive I can have a “goals” body in no time! With that being said, it is much easier to write about it then to actually drag my ass to the gym that often! Also my eating habits are horrible so I have to clean that up too.
  2. My second resolution is to restart my blog and work harder than ever before! This winter break alone I’ve done more work for the blog than in the past year! I’m also going to start a kick-ass insta so say good-bye to the one I have now because in a matter of days its should look completely different, can’t wait to show you I’m so excited!
  3. My last resolution is going to be the hardest one… I want to learn to not stress so much about little things. I have a tendency to stress out over many little things and its causing a lot of unneeded stress in my life. So this year I am going to try to be more chill and not get so affected by small things which aren’t worth my worrying.

I have high hopes in achieving my resolutions this year, comment your resolutions below!

Creative Blogger Award

creative blogger

Hey guys, are you having a great Easter Monday? I’m spending mine renovating my house, what a relaxing way to spend Easter Monday, isn’t it? As you can probably tell, today’s post is about The Creative Blogger Award! I was nominated by Ryane, who is a really awesome and informative blog about all things beauty! I strongly recommend you check out her blog, it has so many interesting like ootd’s, motd’s, wishlists, tags, and more! Thanks again for nominating me, I love reading your posts, keep doing the great job!

The rules of the award are:

  • Nominate 15-20 blogs and notify them via their social media/blogs
  • Thank and post the link of the person who nominated you
  • Share 5 facts about yourself to your readers
  • Pass on the rules

Facts:

1.When I was vacationing in Greece a few years ago, my family and I got robbed while we were there. They came into our room while we were sleeping and snatched my moms purse. Not only did they get most of our money, but our passports too. Forcing us to travel around Greece (with hardly any money) to get to the Canadian Embassy. But not to worry it all worked out for the best! If you want to read more about that experience you can click here.

2. For three years I had my own jewelry business where I made earrings, bracelets, and necklaces and sold them at a variety of craft sales. Unfortunately, my creative spark for jewelry faded and I have stopped creating new items (although I still have quite a few items that I haven’t sold).

3. I’ve owned over 30 animals. Oddly enough, I’ve never had the “usual house pet” i.e. dogs or cats because I always lived with someone that was either allergic or didn’t want one. I did however have two lizards, a gecko, three frogs, and around 30 fish. Currently, I only have a gecko, and guess what his name is? Lizzie!

4. When people first see me they think that I’m Latino, lot’s of people think I’m Spanish but most think I’m Mexican. Some people have also thought I was Asian (Indian, mostly), when in fact I’m Serbian. Serbia is a small European country, where not to offend anyone but the people there are really white! Both of my parents are Serbian and my mom is as pale as people come but somehow I ended up with dark brown hair and eyes, and yellowish brown (it’s hard to describe my color, lol) skin! It’s funny how genetics work. I often get called, “authentic or exotic.” Some people wonder why I’m not offended by always being called different things but honestly I like it! I’m not sure why but it makes me feel special and different from everyone else (which I guess I am).

5. Since the last fact was really long I’ll make this one short, and frankly I’ve run out of interesting facts. So the last fact about me is that writing a book is on my bucket-list. I have a few ideas about what but nothing concrete, and I don’t know when I’ll find the time to start writing it, but I hope I’ll manage!

Hair for Easter

Easter in my house was always a big deal, mostly because my mom loved it (I’m not sure why). We would always call a bunch of friends and family over for an egg hunt and traditional Easter games followed by a grand lunch! Which is why I wanted to make three separate posts for Easter; Hair for Easter (this one), Outfits for Easter, and Nails for Easter. Hopefully these posts will prep you for Easter so that you can look as great as you’ll feel that day!

Picture from: stylishtrendy.com

I think this entire look is perfect for Easter! This is  one occasion that you can pull off a bow hairstyle and purple eyeshadow without people thinking you overdid it! Although, if you are going to a serious dinner, this may not be the best look for you….

Picture from: stylehaus.com

If you are planning on spending your Easter playing fun and festive games, then I suggest you take a leap and temporaily die you hair! I suggest a “springy” color like yellow or pink! Take example of this celebs!

Picture from: http://www.pinterest.com

This is for those people with no hair skills whatsoever (like myself). All you do is braid one section of hair from each side of your head, then tie it with an elastic in the back. To make it more “eastery” put a “springy” colored bow on to cover the elastic. ( Don’t you love these words I made up ;))

Picture from: thrivehere.empowernetwork.com

Another simple hairstyle, simply take a section from each side of your head and then tie a bow as if you were tying your shoelaces! Take it a step forward: Temporarily color the strands that you will be using to make the bow. This will make the bow truly stand out! I’ve been trying out the Splat Hair Chalk Midnight Blueand it really shows in my dark brown hair! For $8 it’s a really amazing way to add a pop of color to any hairdo, I recommend you try it out!

Picture from: confettimeplease.com

If you are running out of time but still want a cute hairdo, then you can simply braid your hair and put small flowers in it!

Hope you enjoyed these hair inspos, if you liked this post, make sure to check back next Monday and Thursday(Thursday instead of the usual Friday because next Friday is Good Friday :)) for the other two posts in the Easter series.
