Favorite Nail Colors for Summer 2017

Hey guys,

Painting my nails is something that I have loved doing since I was a little girl, and as seasons change, I would change my taste in colors. Here are some colors that I’ve been loving to rock during the hot sunny months!

blue

This baby blue is a color that I love for summer, and for one main reason; it reminds me of the beach. The beach is my happy place and blue is known to be a calm and cooling color so whenever I have blue nails I always feel at bit more tranquil.purple nails

Ya, you can probably sense a pattern here… Light girly colors that are almost like pastels are my summer go to’s. That, or going really bold!lilac nails

This color just makes me think of flowers and innocence immediately. It’s like the innocent girl next door color, but add an accent somewhere and it’ll add a cool twist to the look. It is also a really great base if you wanted to try some cool designs.

white nails

Matt white nails are a classic, and it’s no surprise why! It looks great on all nail lengths and has an clean, fresh, fun look to it, all while being elegant at the same time! I absolutely love white nails when I tan, I love the contrast of white against my darker skin.

yellow nails

Remember how I mentioned being bold in one of the above pictures? Well this is an example of what I was talking about, yellow! Same as the white, yellow contrasts beautifully against bronzed skin and is such a vibrant color that just screams sun!

Hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite nail color picks, comment yours below! Also do not forget that I will be moving my blog some time soon! Lastly, if you are interested in getting in great shape with me for free, click the link below!

Free Fitness and Nutrition Program

Hi everyone!

I’ve spent the last 7 weeks learning French in beautiful Gaspé, in Quebec, Canada. I had one of the best summers of my life there, full of new experiences such as sea kayaking and canyoning, making new amazing friends, and throughout the entire trip I’ve taken so many beautiful pictures that I can’t wait to share with you! Although I had an amazing time, I completely abandoned one thing I’m very passionate about; health and fitness.
I arrived in Quebec in the best shape of my life and while I did keep pretty active there, IMG_7439my diet was horrendous! I’m talking poutine for lunch and pizza for dinner, not to mention the bagel with peanut butter and jam or/ and muffin for breakfast! We had a cafeteria where we ate every day and it was very tasty but so unhealthy, we also had a big dessert after lunch and dinner ( of course I ate the dessert every time as I have a huge sweet tooth).  I shocked by body by going from a strict counting macros diet to this random unbalanced diet. Needless to say my tummy was not feeling the best most days…But I am back in Toronto and more motivated than ever to get back on track!
Since I’ve never really talked about my fitness journey on my blog I’d like to give you guys a quick re-cap of my fitness journey. I’ve been working out regularly for about 1.5 years now. I focused  mainly on weight training with basically no cardio training but lately I’ve also been working on calisthenics ( really cool body weight exercises such as kip ups, superman push-ups etc).
My goal now is to keep working on skills (the calisthenics portion) and also on my endurance (cardio) while maintaining the muscle I have grown the past six months using the 5×5 program (comment if you want more info on this).
I plan on doing BBG, Zgym and also my own calistenics workouts for at least 5 days a week, l don’t want to have a strict schedule or else I’ll be less likely to follow it.  I know 5 days may seem like a lot for some, but I truly love going to the gym ( especially for my calisthenics days, it’s like playing ) so I think I should be able to follow this schedule but if t proves to be to demanding I can always just take out a day 😃
In order to keep myself on track or help anyone else out wanting to get fit or also wants to get back on track after summer, I’m going to post on insta everyday, noting what I ate that day and what workout I did. I promise my food will be very simple and workouts will be relatively quick but definitely fun and effective ! So if this sounds like something that’s interests you, simply check out my my fitness Instagram (@peachesandabs)  that I’m just starting up.
Everything is completely free, I’m not a personal trainer just have some experience after doing tons of research and working out myself for pretty long, after all this is also to keep myself on track ( major accountability challenge for me!)
As for my followers that are here for fashion and beauty, not to worry! I am ready with a bunch of new content, collabs, and breathtaking photographs! I will be publishing a post every Thursday, along with the daily fitness post!
Also, please don’t forget that I am moving my blog to another platfrom, and my domain will change to osovogue.com!

Thanks to Followers!!

This is my 101 st post and I wanted to thank everyone who has been following me the past year! When I started this blog I never imagined it would reach such a wide audience and that I would get so much positive feedback. I was honestly afraid that I would get some hate mail for unknown reasons (as many bloggers do), but I didn’t! Instead I got the nicest and most positive group of followers and readers that I could possibly ask for! So I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone,  have a great time if you are on Spring Break right now! Here’s a picture of where I wish I was right now, comment where you wish you could go on vacation/ where you are vacationing!

Winter ways to burn fat !

The following is a list of easy things you can do with your family or friends. So that you don’t feel guilty after indulging some hot cocoa with marshmallows and other fattening desserts (apple pie is one of my favorites:)!

Shoveling Snow: The chore we all hate, one of the worst things about snow but it will give you a hell of a good workout! Feel free to skip your workout if you shovel for longer than 15 min. As it is a great cardio workout but even more so, it will work every single muscle in your upper body!

Snowball fights: Running around in the snow, ducking, jumping and throwing snowballs gives you crazy calorie burn. Approximately 350 calories per hour!

Snowman building: Believe it or not this actually a great exercise! All that bending, rolling snowballs, and lifting can help you burn an extra 300 calories per hour!

Sledding: When going down a hill on your sled, you use many muscle groups such as your core to keep your balance so that you don’t fall (right away at least). Now the part that makes sledding a bit less fun; going back up the hill! Yes, that is the part we all dread when sledding, we spend 10 sec getting down the hill but five minutes getting up the hill. Unfair. But at least we can look on the bright side, going up a hill while holding and sled in the cold = lots of calorie burning! Precisely, around 240 per 30 min!

Skating: Get your skates and get your cardio on! Don’t have skates? Many ice rinks rent out skates for cheap so that everyone can skate when they like! Skating is great cardio but is also great for building glute muscles because you are constantly in a bit of a squat. It even works your core because it has to keep you balanced, so if you are especially clumsy (like me) you will burn even more calories! Always think about the bright side of things!

I hope you enjoy these ideas and remember, always think about the bright side! Even if its dark outside 😉 Also, did anyone else notice that all these activities start with the letter S?

How to Get Rid of Dry Winter Skin, part 2!

Every time Winter rolls in, I know that I`m about to have a battle with my skin! It always gets really dry and flaky, which not only looks bad but it also makes putting face make-up on almost impossible and it also itches like crazy! Although this year I think I finally got it right! Here are a few tips on how to keep your face moisturized!

Here are a few reasons why your face may be so dry.

  • Your daily cleanser
  • Washing your hands too much
  • The dry winter air
  • The winter wind
  • Your acne creams

Since there are so many solutions to these problems, I`m going to make this a two part series, the solutions and explanations to the first two points is already post here!

The dry winter air + the wind

I put these two together because it all really comes to the same thing; the weather! If it is cold and windy outside that will certainly give you dry skin. That is because the cold air drys out your face because the air is dry too and there isn`t humidity in the air. The harsh wind is also bad for your face, leaving your face extremely dry in the winter! So dry that your normal moisturizer may not even be enough!

So my suggestion is that you use a light exfoliant first to get rid of the pieces that are flaky, then take a warm shower right after and put on your most moisturizing cream. The humidity that you created in the shower + the moisturizing cream should be enough for your face to recover from the exfoliating. Also, keep your moisturizing cream beside your bed so that you won`t forget to put it on before bed and in the morning. One more tip is to not only slather the cream on your face but to rub it in, pretend that you are massaging your face so that the cream will get thoroughly absorbed by your face.

Your acne creams

The way that acne creams work, is that they dry out your face by absorbing all the dirt and stuff that clogs your pores. It also dehydrates your skin to make the pimple smaller, this is why many people suggest putting toothpaste on your acne to shrink pimples, because it is extremely dehydrating! It does help your acne problems but will unfortunately completely dry up your face in the winter time, giving you skin so flaky that your foundation crusts up.

So to solve this problem, try to use a moisturizing face mask at least 2 times a week. Also include moisturizer in your morning and bedtime routine even if you have a load of other products. It would be ideal to stop using the acne creams for a while to let your face get it`s natural oils back but I know how bad acne can get and why some people may not want to stop, so instead of getting rid of acne creams, go to a pharmacist instead of a drugstore and specifically ask them if they have any acne creams that are better for your skin. As for the foundation problem, try using a beauty blender instead of your fingers and apply the foundation by patting it in your skin so that all the pores are covered with foundation. Do NOT rub your face or apply it side to side because that will make the application 100 times worse, it will cause your skin to get even more flaky.

I hope some of these tips help you get glowing skin in the winter time, let me know if they help 🙂

Mis-fit Review

I know many people made a New Years resolution to get fit, and this is a great way to reach your goal. Last year I got a Misfit shine for my birthday, I’ve been using it for almost a year now so it’s a great time for me to write a review about it now. In case you don’t know what a Misfit shine is, it is a fitness watch. A more popular fitness watch you may have heard of is the fit-bit, the fit-bit was actually what I was planning to get but after lots of research I found the Misfit shine which was less expensive and had more neat features than the Fitbit.

The Best of 2015 (Pictures)

New Years Resolutions!

Hey guys! It’s been another year and we officially left 2015 behind and started 2016! Who’s excited, I know I am! As always I decided to make a New Years resolution list and this year I want to share my resolutions with you guys and hopefully  I’ll actually manage to keep some of them.

1)Actually go to the gym

I got a gym membership last month and so far I haven’t gone to the gym to exercise once! I have a bit of an excuse, I’ve been working on a gym routine. After lots and lots of research I finally decided on what my routine was going to be . I found an amazing website with a 12 week fitness plan for free! So I’m going to follow the plan  and follow it with the Treadmill Brazillian Butt Workout below, because I mean who doesn’t want a brazillian butt!?

treadmill workout

2) Less tv time

When I get home  I am so exhausted that I have a need to just lie down on my couch and watch tv, even if I have more important things to do. If I don’t watch any tv a whole day then I feel as if my day wasn’t a good one. I know, it’s like I have a tv addiction! I’m going to try really hard to stop being so dependent on tv!

3)Work more on my blog

I have to admit that lately I haven’t been separating as much time for my blog as I should… A few months ago my blog was skyrocketing but then the holiday season came along and I didn’t/t have as much time (and laziness took over) and things have slowed down. I am going to try really hard to stick to my posting schedule (Mondays and Fridays) and to produce more useful and fun content.

4) Eat healthier

Realistically speaking here, I’m never going to stop eating pizza or ice-cream but I am going to try eating more in moderation. I also have a bad habit of needing to eat some desert right after dinner, if I don’t  then I don’t feel full. So I am going to try to stop that and get my body used to eating less sugar!

Do we have any of the same resolutions? Share your resolutions in the comment section! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Infinity Dreams Award

A few days ago, I got nominated for the the Infinity Dreams Award by Sarah Shireen! I want to thank her for nominating me, if you want to check out her amazing blog click here!

The Rules:

  1. Thank the blog that nominated you.
  2. Answer the questions given to you by the lovely that nominated you.
  3. Nominate other bloggers and get them to answer your own questions!

My questions:

1) What is your favorite makeup look you’ve created? (add picture or link to post)

I actually haven’t posted a makeup look tutorial yet but one will be coming up so make sure to check back soon!

2) What products do you use to clean off your makeup?

Lately ive been loving the maybelline makeup remover. For info on that and other makeup removers I’ve been using lately clip here.

3) Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging so that I could have a space where I can write about anything I want, but mostly about my opinion on beauty and fashion related things. i love the blogesphere and how nice and engaging everyone is! Reading just one comment from someone that enjoyed my post always makes my day!

4) If you could only wear one of these products. Which one would you pick? Foundation, lipstick OR eyeliner. Why?

I choose foundation without a doubt! I need foundation to cover up blemishes and even up my skin tone! With only foundation I could rock the “natural face” look (which I usually do on a daily basis :))

5) Which hair shampoo would you definitely recommend and why?

I definitely recommend the Tresemme sea salt extract perfectly undone waves shampoo. It smells so good, is silicon free, and r4eeally makes your hair feel weightless.

6) What piece of advice would you give to your past self?

To worry less about results and to get out of my comfort zone.

My questions for you:

1.Why did you start blogging?

2.What are your favorite types of posts?

3.What is your favorite foundation?

4.What is the one make-up item that you can’t leave the house without?

5.Something about you that most people don’t know.

Nominations:

I would like to nominate anyone reading this right now! If you have a blog where you publish posts, you deserve this award. I think that everyone that has a blog is really deserving because we all take time out of our days to write for everyone else! So if you have a blog, I nominate YOU! I know I’ve done this before but there are so many great blogs that i can’t narrow it down to just a few of my favorite blogs!
