Simple Henna Designs For Summer

Henna is a beautiful symbol of culture and tradition, but it has also become one of the biggest summer trends. You can create beautiful designs on your body that stay on for a few weeks. It’s like a temporary tattoo. Since I’m not very artistic, I have decided to gather some pretty henna designs that anyone can do! I’ll also explain how to easily achieve the design!

Related image

I found this design particularly beautiful! It looks complex but if you break it up into a few small steps it can actually be pretty easy! You start off by just drawing a simple dot and two diamond shapes getting increasingly bigger around it . Then, draw the swirly lines that are connected to the edge of the diamond Voila, you’ve done the hardest part, now simply draw the 5 dots on either side of the diamond and the small lines around it and you’re finished!

To be honest, I’m not sure if this is a flower or sun but either way it’s a cute design! It’s pretty straight forward how to draw this, except with one trick. After drawing hte circle, use the tip of the henna applicator to drag out the little triangular things instead of using more henna, it will end up much cleaner and precise.

Image result for henna elephant

I have always found elephant henna tattoos adorable so I was determined to find one I could draw! This is probably the toughest design here, but if you look at it really close and do it one part at a time it is manageable! A tip is to start at the bottom and work your way up.

Image result for henna turtle

I also love tortoises in henna, and this tortoise looks complex but is in fact really easy to draw. Start with the shell and you can draw the square design of the shell very easy. Just draw two horizontal and two vertical lines. Inside the square you can do any design or even leave it blank. The rest of the body is pretty easy!

Favorite Nail Colors for Summer 2017

Hey guys,

Painting my nails is something that I have loved doing since I was a little girl, and as seasons change, I would change my taste in colors. Here are some colors that I’ve been loving to rock during the hot sunny months!

blue

This baby blue is a color that I love for summer, and for one main reason; it reminds me of the beach. The beach is my happy place and blue is known to be a calm and cooling color so whenever I have blue nails I always feel at bit more tranquil.purple nails

Ya, you can probably sense a pattern here… Light girly colors that are almost like pastels are my summer go to’s. That, or going really bold!lilac nails

This color just makes me think of flowers and innocence immediately. It’s like the innocent girl next door color, but add an accent somewhere and it’ll add a cool twist to the look. It is also a really great base if you wanted to try some cool designs.

white nails

Matt white nails are a classic, and it’s no surprise why! It looks great on all nail lengths and has an clean, fresh, fun look to it, all while being elegant at the same time! I absolutely love white nails when I tan, I love the contrast of white against my darker skin.

yellow nails

Remember how I mentioned being bold in one of the above pictures? Well this is an example of what I was talking about, yellow! Same as the white, yellow contrasts beautifully against bronzed skin and is such a vibrant color that just screams sun!

Hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite nail color picks, comment yours below! Also do not forget that I will be moving my blog some time soon! Lastly, if you are interested in getting in great shape with me for free, click the link below!

Free Fitness and Nutrition Program

Hi everyone!

I’ve spent the last 7 weeks learning French in beautiful Gaspé, in Quebec, Canada. I had one of the best summers of my life there, full of new experiences such as sea kayaking and canyoning, making new amazing friends, and throughout the entire trip I’ve taken so many beautiful pictures that I can’t wait to share with you! Although I had an amazing time, I completely abandoned one thing I’m very passionate about; health and fitness.
I arrived in Quebec in the best shape of my life and while I did keep pretty active there, IMG_7439my diet was horrendous! I’m talking poutine for lunch and pizza for dinner, not to mention the bagel with peanut butter and jam or/ and muffin for breakfast! We had a cafeteria where we ate every day and it was very tasty but so unhealthy, we also had a big dessert after lunch and dinner ( of course I ate the dessert every time as I have a huge sweet tooth).  I shocked by body by going from a strict counting macros diet to this random unbalanced diet. Needless to say my tummy was not feeling the best most days…But I am back in Toronto and more motivated than ever to get back on track!
Since I’ve never really talked about my fitness journey on my blog I’d like to give you guys a quick re-cap of my fitness journey. I’ve been working out regularly for about 1.5 years now. I focused  mainly on weight training with basically no cardio training but lately I’ve also been working on calisthenics ( really cool body weight exercises such as kip ups, superman push-ups etc).
My goal now is to keep working on skills (the calisthenics portion) and also on my endurance (cardio) while maintaining the muscle I have grown the past six months using the 5×5 program (comment if you want more info on this).
I plan on doing BBG, Zgym and also my own calistenics workouts for at least 5 days a week, l don’t want to have a strict schedule or else I’ll be less likely to follow it.  I know 5 days may seem like a lot for some, but I truly love going to the gym ( especially for my calisthenics days, it’s like playing ) so I think I should be able to follow this schedule but if t proves to be to demanding I can always just take out a day 😃
In order to keep myself on track or help anyone else out wanting to get fit or also wants to get back on track after summer, I’m going to post on insta everyday, noting what I ate that day and what workout I did. I promise my food will be very simple and workouts will be relatively quick but definitely fun and effective ! So if this sounds like something that’s interests you, simply check out my my fitness Instagram (@peachesandabs)  that I’m just starting up.
Everything is completely free, I’m not a personal trainer just have some experience after doing tons of research and working out myself for pretty long, after all this is also to keep myself on track ( major accountability challenge for me!)
As for my followers that are here for fashion and beauty, not to worry! I am ready with a bunch of new content, collabs, and breathtaking photographs! I will be publishing a post every Thursday, along with the daily fitness post!
Also, please don’t forget that I am moving my blog to another platfrom, and my domain will change to osovogue.com!

The Guide to Leather Backpacks for School

For many years in the past and surely for many years to come, leather is a material that has been used in the fashion industry time and time again. And it’s no surprise why, leather is a one of a kind material. It is natural and is extremely strong and durable, not to mention stylish! Which makes leather an ideal pick for a backpack that you’ll be using almost everyday!

Like most other students, I’ve been sporting regular nylon backpacks (basically anything I could find in Staples). Nylon is more light weight, which is definitely an advantage but my bags would rarely last me a full year. Either they would rip, get extremely dirty, or simply go out of style! I’ve had a few backpacks that ripped after only a few months and I would have to buy a new one. One year I had a light blue Jansport backpack that went from blue to almost grey because of how dirty I got it from taking it to school everyday. Also, just think about all the different designs and patterns Jansport comes out with each year, these backpacks go out of style very quickly!

Leather on the other hand is an extremely durable material that can last up to 20 years with just a little bit of care, its as simple as occasionally using a damp cloth to wipe down the surface. Also, leather backpacks don’t go out of style, as leather is a fashion staple. Its actually the contrary, the more you wear it, the more it becomes soft and customized with a unique texture and pattern.

One reason why I haven’t thought about owning a leather backpack for school up until now is because I thought that the material is too stiff and heavy and would not be flexible or large enough be able to carry all my school supplies. It turns out that there are actually many leather backpacks that can hold a lot, and even if they seem a bit stiff at first, they will soften as you use them. Here is an interesting blog post specifically about leather backpacks for school.

So you like the idea of owning a leather backpack but not so much the price….

This is one of the main reasons why I haven’t bought a leather backpack earlier but I am changing my way of shopping to buying less quantity but better quality. It’s the same as what happens with all our closets, they are full yet we still claim to have nothing to wear that we like! Well that’s because we haven’t been thinking much about the long term, by investing in a leather backpack you will be happy with the same  beautiful backpack for years to come instead of ending up with 5 damaged backpacks (true story). If I had bought a good quality leather backpack in the beginning of high school, I actually would’ve saved money in the long run because I only bought 1 backpack instead of purchasing a new one each year. Not only is it a great investment, but leather bags are also becoming more affordable.

How to Style Comfy Sweaters! Part 2

Hey guys I hoped you liked Part 1 of this post, this is basically a continuation of that post, I hope you like it!

I don’t know about you, but I certainly have many many days where I wake up in the morning and all I feel is cold. It makes me not want to get out of bed or do anything! Then the thought of putting on a tight or revealing (basically uncomfortable) top to look fashionable makes me feel sick. All i want to do is not wear a bra, be warm and comfortable but still look presentable. On these days my huge comfy and fuzzy sweaters come in handy! I’ve had an obsession with sweaters lately and now they won’t fit in my closet anymore, whoops! Anyways here are a few different ways to style comfy sweaters without looking like you completely gave up on life ( even though you may feel that way inside) ;).

This post is going to made up of several different ootd looks put together but I will also give tips on ideas how to make theses outfits not so boring. You’ll see that they are all very simple, warm, and most importantly comfortable! If you want to see pictures of all my comfy sweaters, keep a look out for my Sweater Collection post coming up very soon!

img_3391

In this first outfit I am modeling a sweater vest. I find sweter vests to be really cute to make a rgular outfit into something a little bit more polished and business like. I paired it with my leather watch and tight black jeans. I decided to finish the outfit with black riding boots so that I can have a completely black bottom to not take away from the sweater vest and green blouse ensemble.

img_3411

I will be honest with you guys… I haven’t worn this sweater in a long time. This is because this yellowish-green color is very out of my comfort zone! But I made it my mission to create an outfit with this sweater that I would be willing to wear out, and not only did I complete the mission, but I actually love this outfit and it has become one of my staples! For anyone who has a sweater similar to this that is out of their comfort zone, I suggest you wear it and make that the statement piece of your outfit. This means the rest of your outfit should take to toning down the outfit a notch. In my outfit I paired this bright sweater with a dark wash jean and black uggs, about as simple as it gets! I accessorized this sweater with a turquoise necklace to take full advantage of the colors but depending on your own sweater you may just want to go accessory less.img_3488

This is definitely my coziest sweater, it’s made up of the softest material and is a turtle neck, perfect for those freezing days! To keep myself from dressing like my grandpa though, I paired the sweater with a light wash jean and trendy ankle boots to bring some chic into the outfit instead of just a cozy grandpa look! This way I’m extremely comfortable and warm but I look much more put together just because of the shoes! cozy-sweater-brown

This would probably be my favourite outfit. Here I am wearing it in the spring time but you can easliy make a few changes to it to make the outfit warmer. Simply unroll the jeans or if you have cufed jeans wear a pair of nice socks over to make a statement and keep your ankles and shins warm, a great example of this is roots wool socks. Also, I wold swap out this green jacket for my winter jacket and voila a winter outfit has formed!

I hope you guys liked these winter looks, watch out for a review on the Glamglow Super mud coming up in the following week!

aeo-sweater

Sweater: AEO | Leggings: Hyba | Shoes: Ugg

This is one of the simplest outfits but I love it so much! I love pairing leggings with sweaters because they are tight and form fitting which is completely opposite from sweaters. The ugg boots especially tied the whole look together because they are stylish but not very visible at the same time and they do not drag the eye to them, instead the sweater is the statement piece with nothing distracting the eye from it.

cozy-sweater

Sweater: H&M | Jeans: Urban Behavior | Shoes: Timberland

Here I went for a monochrome look. I paired my biggest black and white sweater with ripped jeans to add some more interest to the outfit. I really feel like the rips at the knee and some edge to the otherwise simple outfit. I finished the look off with matching white and grey socks peaking above my Timberlands. I chose the Timberlands instead one of my black pairs of shoes because I wanted to break up the monochrome a little bit and I find that they also add to the edginess of the outfit.

sorels

Sweater: Shrinking Violet | Leggings: Hyba | Shoes: Sorels

This outfit is one that I wear when I truly cannot get out of bed. I like this sweater because it is plain and can be paired with anything but it isn’t just a plain canvas, instead it has these cut-out patterns which automatically give the sweater some interest. I paired it with leggings again and wore my Sorels because they match the color scheme of the outfit perfectly, I especially love how the white fur ties in with the white sweater! Also, I’m not sure if you can tell in the picture but the leggings are more of a heather grey so there are specks of white that once again match the sweater.

styling-a-sweater

Sweater: Shrinking Violet| Jeans: Costa Blanca | Socks: Roots | Scarf: Forever 21 | Shoes: Sorels

Once again, I am wearing the white sweater as above but this time I paired it with jeans. I also accessorized with a burgundy scarf and roots socks peaking from the sorels to add some color to the outfit. I also love wearing my Talula burgundy mits for an even cozier and cute look!

As you guys can see, I love making simple outfits with little touches that add some extra interest or a pop of color to them! Tag me in your pictures if you want me to see some of your cozy sweater outfits!

I didn’t plan on making this a two-part series but it would be too long for only one post so look out for part two with more looks coming up next week!

New Years Resolutions!!

Happy New Years everyone! I hope everyone had a great time whether they went out, spent it with friends and family, or decided to stay alone! As always, with a new year come new promises and new resolutions. I don’t even remember my resolutions from last year but I’m pretty sure I didn’t fulfill them, whoops! Which is why this year I have decided to only come up with three but I am going to make sure to go through with these!

  1. No surprise here but my first resolution is to get fit! I’m pretty sure I said this last year too and I kind of did keep to my word. My fitness journey started exactly one year ago and its been a long journey with not too much success. This is because I would have times when I’m super consistent and managed to go to the gym 4+ times a week and then other times when I would not go for several weeks at a time. I believe that I have finally come up with the perfect workout routine and if I can manage to go to the gym 4 times a week every week I am positive I can have a “goals” body in no time! With that being said, it is much easier to write about it then to actually drag my ass to the gym that often! Also my eating habits are horrible so I have to clean that up too.
  2. My second resolution is to restart my blog and work harder than ever before! This winter break alone I’ve done more work for the blog than in the past year! I’m also going to start a kick-ass insta so say good-bye to the one I have now because in a matter of days its should look completely different, can’t wait to show you I’m so excited!
  3. My last resolution is going to be the hardest one… I want to learn to not stress so much about little things. I have a tendency to stress out over many little things and its causing a lot of unneeded stress in my life. So this year I am going to try to be more chill and not get so affected by small things which aren’t worth my worrying.

I have high hopes in achieving my resolutions this year, comment your resolutions below!
