Nails for Easter

I wish everyone a happy Good Friday! Whenever you read this I hope you enjoy the last post in the Easter series! The posts that are in the Easter series are: Hair for Easter (in the links below), Outfits for Easter (in the links below), and Nails for Easter (this one). Hopefully these posts will prep you for Easter so that you can look as great as you’ll feel that day! I’ve tried to keep all the designs quite simple to ensure that everyone can do them.

The main part of these nails is to make sure you have pale/ light colors. A vibrant color such as a glossy red would not give you the “eastery” feeling that these do. As for the dots, they are easily created by either dipping a toothpick in white nail polish or simply using a dotter tool.

Here is another example where it’s important to have pale colors. To create the dots like this, first paint your base coat, then make a few white dots (says how in the picture above) and wait for them to dry. Once dried, take a color more pigmented or brighter than your base coat and make more dots (putting some on top of the dried white ones. And that’s it! I love designs with dots because they are so easy to make.

For this design, you can use any base color (preferably an “eastery” one). Once the base is dry, draw a semi-cricle on the tip of your nail, then two ovals on top of it. Wait for that to dry. Once it drys, paint two more pink ovals inside the white ones and that’s it. Voila! A simple yet intriguing design, perfect for those that connot paint well on nails.

If you love the egg part of Easter than this is super cute design for you! First paint your base yellow or orange if you don’t have yellow. Once your base dries, paint on the white eggshell, a nose, and two black eyes. Wait for it to dry, use a top coat on it like seche vite ( best ever! click on link for a review of it) and you are done! I love this one because it seems really hard to make but really its quite easy.

This picture combines the first picture and the previous one. I mainly took this one just to show you that if you think having a chick on every nail is a bit overwhelming ( or you’re just lazy), you can put your chick on your accent nail and leave the others another base color or to spice it up, add some dots.

Once again, I wish you all a Happy Good Friday and Easter!

Outfit Ideas for Easter

Hey everyone! Hope your having a great Monday (who am I kidding, Mondays suck ;)) Eater is coming up very soon, so as the second part of my three part Easter series I’ve put together 4 different outfits that would be ideal for spring. The posts that are in the Easter series are: Hair for Easter (came out already), Outfits for Easter ( this one), and Nails for Easter (coming out this friday). Hopefully these posts will prep you for Easter so that you can look as great as you’ll feel that day!
Spring set #1
This fist outfit is very casual but chic. I think that white jeans are perfect for Easter and the yellow top and blue accents scream spring! For this outfit you don’t necessarily have to use a yellow top and blue accessories. For example, instead of yellow, you can wear a pale pink top with yellow accessories. Any Easter/ spring combination would look great paired with white jeans.

Spring set #2

Spring set #2 by osovogue featuring Disney

I think that any white dress accessorized with turquoise accessories is so romantic and festive looking! If you are planning a romantic date with a special someone, i suggest this outfit for you 🙂

Spring set #3

This outfit mostly describes my style, I love the way fitted boyfriend jeans look with heels, along with a chic top and super cute accessories, this is my ideal outfit! The gold and pink look amazing and add a touch of elegance to the entire outfit.

Spring set #4
This outfit is super cute! It is the girliest and flirtiest of them all! The white accessories really keep this outfit from looking too pink, if you decide to wear an outfit that has lot’s of one color (like pink in this case), I strongly suggest you add some white jewelry to balance it all out!
I hope you guys enjoyed these and get some inspiration for your perfect Easter outfit!

Hair for Easter

Easter in my house was always a big deal, mostly because my mom loved it (I’m not sure why). We would always call a bunch of friends and family over for an egg hunt and traditional Easter games followed by a grand lunch! Which is why I wanted to make three separate posts for Easter; Hair for Easter (this one), Outfits for Easter, and Nails for Easter. Hopefully these posts will prep you for Easter so that you can look as great as you’ll feel that day!

Picture from: stylishtrendy.com

I think this entire look is perfect for Easter! This is  one occasion that you can pull off a bow hairstyle and purple eyeshadow without people thinking you overdid it! Although, if you are going to a serious dinner, this may not be the best look for you….

Picture from: stylehaus.com

If you are planning on spending your Easter playing fun and festive games, then I suggest you take a leap and temporaily die you hair! I suggest a “springy” color like yellow or pink! Take example of this celebs!

Picture from: http://www.pinterest.com

This is for those people with no hair skills whatsoever (like myself). All you do is braid one section of hair from each side of your head, then tie it with an elastic in the back. To make it more “eastery” put a “springy” colored bow on to cover the elastic. ( Don’t you love these words I made up ;))

Picture from: thrivehere.empowernetwork.com

Another simple hairstyle, simply take a section from each side of your head and then tie a bow as if you were tying your shoelaces! Take it a step forward: Temporarily color the strands that you will be using to make the bow. This will make the bow truly stand out! I’ve been trying out the Splat Hair Chalk Midnight Blueand it really shows in my dark brown hair! For $8 it’s a really amazing way to add a pop of color to any hairdo, I recommend you try it out!

Picture from: confettimeplease.com

If you are running out of time but still want a cute hairdo, then you can simply braid your hair and put small flowers in it!

Hope you enjoyed these hair inspos, if you liked this post, make sure to check back next Monday and Thursday(Thursday instead of the usual Friday because next Friday is Good Friday :)) for the other two posts in the Easter series.

Treasured Polish Review (O.P.I)

This is going to be a quick post about a nail polish that I bought recently and have been loving lately!IMG_1181

It is the Nicole by O.P.I in the shade: back to reality… Tv

First off, isn’t that the cutest name!! Nail polishes always have adorable names but this one really made me smile because I thought it was soo funny…
Now to the releventt stuff:
I love the formula of this nail polish so much! It glides on easily and makes almost no bubbles, it also doesn’t make any lines from the bristles of the brush. Speaking of the brush, it is very thick and I personally like that but some may not as it is harder to do any detailed designs. This color is a beautiful pastel purple, if purple can be a pastel?! Although  you can put on several layers for a darker color. Below, there is an image of my nails after applying one coat of this color:
