Blog is officially moved!

Hey guys! I have been waiting for a long time to announce this, but I have officially moved my blog to a self-hosted website! O so Vogue has gone through some serious changes, including a name change! The blog will now be called World My Way.

The content of the blog will still be the same (all of the posts on O so Vogue will be on World My Way), but I  plan to post about some additional things as well. World My Way will not only be a fashion and beauty blog but will also have travel, fitness and health posts, and self-improvement posts!

I am still in the process of remodeling and changing a few more things but feel free to check out the new theme at www.worldmyway.com!

Affordable skincare routine for all face types

Hi friends!

I’ve struggled with acne and dry skin for years! Some may think that dry skin is more fortunate than oily but with dry skin, it is actually much more complicated to get rid of acne. This is because most acne products work by drying out the skin and pores to get rid of the stuff inside it but when you do that to dry skin you only make your face flake and it gets a gross dry texture!

So I think I’ve found a series of skincare products that will work for most skincare types, from oily to dry. It is the Clean & Clear 3 Step Advantage Acne Control Kit.

I’d just like to state now that this is by no means sponsored, one of my friends that had really bad acne cleared her face up with this product and she it to me. It worked for me too so I just wanted to share this product so that it’ll hopefully help some of you guys too!

I like the three-step method because the cleanser is really great for cleaning the skin but it isn’t tough on the skin. It is extremely smooth on the skin and not too drying. Then you follow it up with the spot treatment. Now, this is very drying which is why you follow it up with the moisturizer. The moisturizer is hands down my favorite product of the three. It is so light that it feels like you haven’t applied anything. It also doesn’t have any distinguishable scent so it is perfect for sensitive skin. It drys relatively quickly so that you can apply makeup afterward if you wish and leaves face feeling fresh and moisturized!

Let me know if this product works for you too! Or if you’ve used it in the past and what are your thoughts on it?

How to Transition from Summer to Fall

Fall Lifestyle Wishlist ft. UncommonGoods

You know those times when you go to a store intending to get just one item, but then you end up with a cart full of things! Well be warned, that is exactly what happened to me when I went on this website! I don’t know about you guys but personally I love cute decor and uncommon little things that you don’t even know you need until you see them!

This website is full of quirky, creative, and as the name states uncommon goods! Not only do they have some of the best gift options for women, men, and children alike, they are also very environmentally friendly. They have never sold anything made of leather, feathers or fur and try to include many products made out of recyclable materials. Another cool initiative that they offer is their Better To Give program, where at checkout you can choose a not-for profit to receive a $1 donation from Uncommongoods.

Here are a few things that are on my wish list!

Tea Drop Sampler

I started seeing these tea drops pop up occasionally on my feed around a few months ago and always thought they were so cool! Personally, I love tea! I drink it every single morning during the winter days so I would really love to try this out. The sampler set includes 5 drops each of: citrus ginger, vanilla white, rose earl grey, sweet peppermint, and matcha green tea. Tea is literally one of the easiest things to prepare but they managed to make it even easier! These drops simply dissolve in your water and you’re left with a perfect cup of tea.

On the Go Coffee Press

I heard about this brilliant invention just last weekend when I was at a university fair and somebody started bragging about how one of their students thought of this great idea! For all you coffee lovers, I think it is self explanatory why I want this!

Amazonite Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelet

I fell in love with this bracelet the second I saw it in the beauty and wellness section of the site. At first I was confused as to why a bracelet would be in that section but then I read about the product and it all made sense. It turns out that not only is this a really pretty piece of jewelry but it is also a diffuser that you can carry around with you all day long! By putting incense on the porous lava rocks, it will act as a diffuser throughout the day. I thought this was really neat and is probably number 1 on my wishlist!

Pocket Tin Speaker

My beats pill is on its last string and is about to completely die on me at any moment so t this speaker would really come in handy. It’s also great for taking on the go as it is only the size of a packet of mints, so its really portable which is uncommon for most speakers.

Solar System Bath Bomb Set

Who doesn’t love bath bombs?! I thought this was an extremely cute gift idea for basically any girl. It is a 9 piece set (8 planets and the sun) and handmade.

These are only some of the cool items I found but there are hundreds more! So if you are ever unsure of what to get someone for a gift or are looking to treat yourself, I would highly recommend Uncommon Goods!

Uncommon Goods has kindly sponsored this post but all opinions and thoughts are 100% honest. I am so happy to have come across this website and can assure you that I will be visiting it regularly, especially around Christmas time!

Simple Henna Designs For Summer

Henna is a beautiful symbol of culture and tradition, but it has also become one of the biggest summer trends. You can create beautiful designs on your body that stay on for a few weeks. It’s like a temporary tattoo. Since I’m not very artistic, I have decided to gather some pretty henna designs that anyone can do! I’ll also explain how to easily achieve the design!

Related image

I found this design particularly beautiful! It looks complex but if you break it up into a few small steps it can actually be pretty easy! You start off by just drawing a simple dot and two diamond shapes getting increasingly bigger around it . Then, draw the swirly lines that are connected to the edge of the diamond Voila, you’ve done the hardest part, now simply draw the 5 dots on either side of the diamond and the small lines around it and you’re finished!

Image result for henna designs simple

To be honest, I’m not sure if this is a flower or sun but either way it’s a cute design! It’s pretty straight forward how to draw this, except with one trick. After drawing hte circle, use the tip of the henna applicator to drag out the little triangular things instead of using more henna, it will end up much cleaner and precise.

Image result for henna elephant

I have always found elephant henna tattoos adorable so I was determined to find one I could draw! This is probably the toughest design here, but if you look at it really close and do it one part at a time it is manageable! A tip is to start at the bottom and work your way up.

Image result for henna turtle

I also love tortoises in henna, and this tortoise looks complex but is in fact really easy to draw. Start with the shell and you can draw the square design of the shell very easy. Just draw two horizontal and two vertical lines. Inside the square you can do any design or even leave it blank. The rest of the body is pretty easy!

I’ve been doing a lot of research about this product because I am looking for a high quality mask to clear up my skin. Basically glamglow has taken everyone by their feet! So I wanted to see if this product was really as great as everyone says or if its another trend not worth splurging on.

The packaging is really beautiful and the box it is in is so sparkly and reflects light so beautifully! Here are some pictures of the packaging:

Clinique Lipstick Dupe! Save Money!!

Hey guys! I know the whole Christmas and New Year season left us all a bit more broke than usual, so I’d say it’s about time for a makeup dupe post! Everyone loves Clinique; they have pretty colors, great formulas, and are pretty budget friendly (considering it isn’t a drugstore lipstick) which is why I’m so happy to share the dupe I found!

clinique dupe

Clinique (left) vs. NYC (right)

I found a dupe for the Clinique Lipstick called Think Bronze. The great alternate that is almost exact to color is Garnet Gala from NYC’s lipstick collection! Below you can see the two comparisons.

Below you can see the two lipsticks up close. When you look up close you can see exactly how close the colors are! The only difference is the cute light pink apple on the NYC lipstick but it didn’t really change the color. The two lipsticks are definitely very similar and I recommend the NYC lipstick to anyone on a budget (it’s under $5)! The only thing that I like more about the Clinique is that sometimes I feel that the NYC  dries my lips a bit, although I use it a lot more and bring it everywhere with me because it is so easily replaceable so even if I loose it, it wouldn’t be a big deal!

best drugstore lipstick

I give a 4.5/5 rating for the NYC lipstick compared to the Clinique, so you should definitely buy it the next time you are in your local drugstore!

How to fix your powder/ compact!

I’ve never broken a compact powder until two weeks ago. Luckily, it wasn’t a really expensive powder but it’s one of y favorites and I use it almost daily so I definitely did not want to throw it out! So I decided to repair it and took pictures along the way so that I could show you guys how to fix your broken compacts.

What you’ll need:

  • A plastic bag
  • 70% or less rubbing alcohol
  • A towel (to keep the surface you are working on clean).
  • A knife (or anything that you can use to smush the powder pieces).

What to do: (Just follow the steps below, comment if you have any questions)

The paper towel will have absorbed all the excess alcohol, leaving you with a fixed compact like the one below!  As you can see, it won’t be as pretty as before but it will be usable. One last suggestion that I have is to use alcohol that is less than 70% because mine came out a bit more dry than wanted. Good luck to fixing your compacts!

Remember, if you have any questions make sure to leave me a comment and I’ll be more than happy to try to help!

How I go from Summer to Fall!

With Fall officially here, leaves are not the only things changing color! Whenever seasons change, our style and color choices change too! I’m going to show you some of the ways that I change my style to transition into the Fall from Summer! For me, the three main things that change from Summer to Fall are my nails, hair, and outfits! And obviously my Starbucks latte (Pumpkin Spice is the way to go)! In this post I’ll be showing you some of my favorite Fall colors for everything beauty related!

Nails:

Obviously as the weather gets colder everyone gets a bit more gloomy and we all go towards the darker colors or nudes instead of pastels and bright colors. Some of my favorite Fall nail polishes are:

Hair:Hello Autumn

I don’t dye my hair too much, but when I do the seasons definitely effect whether I’m going darker or lighter. In the Fall and Winter time I love deep chocolate brown and raven black colors. I find that those two look striking in the winter time, it may be because of the contrast of those colors against the snow. Here is an online quiz  made by Madison Reed, a hair color company that has re-engineered permanent color to give everyone a chance to get hair that looks like it was done by professionals at home! You can take it to see which hair color is best for you, It asks you just about everything about your hair, from your skin color to hair texture to determine which hair color would best suit you!

Makeup:

My face makeup stays the same, but I usually change up my eye looks and my lipstick for Fall! On my eyes I really like using natural colored and/ or copper and gold eye shadows. I really love browns paired with gold because it gives such a natural yet still big appearance on your face, smokey eyes (especially with browns) are another one of my favorite things for Fall. And of course, I match the natural(ish) eye shadow with a bold and dark (darker than usual) lip color. Here are some of my favorite lipstick shades (My favorite is the YSL limited Edition in Black Red):
